Circle singing and
Collaborative Vocal Improvisation
Circlesinging is an ancient form of art brought to a wider audience by Bobby Mcferrin.
It’s a precious activity that many scientific researches are highly valuing for its capacity of bringing interpersonal entrainment.
It is a form of art where a group of people sing together music spontaneously created by a conductor.
A circlesong is a choral piece composed and arranged in the moment, layering melodies, harmonies and rhythms. Its complexity can be variable and tailor made to the skills and needs of participants and the inspiration of the conductor-composer.
The circle is the place where you can express yourself in a mistake-free space and at the same time, be connected with the others, a great opportunity to learn to listen what's inside and outside us.
As a musician, circlesinging brings countless benefits:
it's an infinite source of inspiration, a great chance for improving musicality, expressivity, rhythm, harmonic and arranging skills, it’s a meticulous training for vocal blending and a fascinating exploration of the human vocality.
As a human being, circlesinging helps to find and know yourself better, bringing to the light and offer to the other everyone uniqueness.
It teaches to listen more carefully, more deeply, trying to catch and understand what’s behind every sound, every breath.
And last but not least, it brings the great joy of being together, altogether, with open heart.
